Application Value of Bedside Ultrasound in the Positioning of PICC Tips in Preterm Infants

Objective To investigate the application value of bedside ultrasound in localization tip a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) preterm infants. Methods 52 infants underwent and X-ray examination. Observing position catheter tip, using positioning as gold standard. Statistics incidence PICC normal ectopic showed by ultrasound, comparing difference between results X-ray. Calculating accuracy, sensitivity, specificity diagnosing position, length inlet withdrawal tubes was observed calculated down-regulated to appropriate under guidance. Results The display rate color Doppler 98.0%, accuracy 90.2%. There no significant compared with ( P = 0.375), two examination methods highly consistent Kappa 0.769, <0.001). sensitivity ectopy 76.5% 97.1%, success catheters ultrasound-guided downsetting 100%. Conclusion Bedside accurately show guide entry catheter, high specificity, which has clinical promotion.
